AFRICAN WOMEN IN DATA SCHOLARSHIP

About 14G

Ingressive for Good exists to equip young Africans in need with tech skills to help them impact and contribute to the development of Africa, socially and economically. Ingressive For Good (I4G) was created to address the glaring inequities that exist within African tech ecosystems.

Last year, 14G had helped 1000 women build skills in data to challenge the fact that women make up a measly 15% of all data scientists globally. We’re not done yet. This year, we’re giving access to another 1000. We have partnered with Datacamp to help 1000 women build skills and careers in data.

I4G Circles are communities in cities and campuses all over Africa made up of Young Africans passionate about Tech and leveraging it to solve problems.

I4G Initiatives

Micro-scholarships

Ingressive For Good seeks to formally train African tech talents in need, studying computer science, by providing scholarships to Ivy-Leagues of Africa.  The goal is to develop youth leaders in tech who are ready to put their learned skills to work in leading organizations, communities, and their local countries while giving them access to resources, mentorship, and progress opportunities in the technology industry.

Technical Training

We are committed to developing a community of African youths with digital tech skills by providing hands-on practice in the world of programming. The training is for complete beginners who are passionate about learning the basics of software development through digital skills training, coding boot camps, and remote internships for tech-enabled youths. This program is executed in partnership with HNG and Enye.

Talent Placement

We will partner with corporates, job placement companies, and recruiters seeking Africa’s brightest tech talent to place the top 5-percent of our trained and upskilled Ingressive for Good alumni members into 5,000 jobs in the next five years.

Hack for Growth

I4G Community challenge is a quarterly challenge of coding/design to help new programmers/designers work on solving local challenges within their community.

Hackfest

HackFest is a one-day virtual festival with a focus on Talent placement. It’s going to include Lectures, workshops, Job hunts, Hangouts, and I4G announcements.
