University of Uyo Signs MOU With Two UK-Based Universities

Following the efforts of the current Vice Chancellor, Professor Enefiok Essien, to internationalize academic activities in the University of Uyo and make it a World-class institution, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed with two UK-based universities.The are : University of Bedfordshire, Luton, England and Birmingham City University, Birmingham, U. K.

For Academic Staff, the MOU involves faculty exchange programme, joint research and publication activities between academic staff of the University of Uyo and the academic staff of collaborating universities in the Uk, involvement in joint international conferences, seminars and workshops with partner universities in UK, while students (undergraduate and graduate), involves availability of a summer exchange programme participation, opportunity of having two degrees (subject to Senate approval) [one from UNIUYO and another from the partner Universities in UK], availability of 3 -1 and 2 - 2 programmes in some courses between UNIUYO and her partner Universities in UK, use of laboratories and research field trips, availability of partial scholarship opportunities for UNIUYO graduates or potential graduates that could afford the balance fees for Masters Programme in UK partner Universities and opportunity of participating in a Taster programme for Undergraduate and Graduate students of UNIUYO.
