Yobe governorship aspirant, Talba, resigns from PDP

A chieftain of the PDP and a two time governorship aspirant in Yobe State, Malam Ibrahim Talba, has resigned from the party.

Talba who announced his resignation from the PDP at a meeting with his supporters in Potiskum at the weekend, said he was leaving the PDP because it had lost its quest to serve as a platform for justice.
He added that the leading opposition party was enmeshed in deep crises that had further fractionalized it beyond redemption.
He said despite the seeming judicial victory of one faction over the other at the national level, it was obvious the PDP had not seen the last of such crises as it prepared for its national convention.
Talba, who is the Ciroman Tikau, said even in Yobe, the PDP had no leadership, while its hitherto massive support base had largely whittled down.
He said from a personal assessment of the PDP in Yobe, the party could not be a veritable platform upon which citizens of the state could actualize their dream.
