At least, four people have lost their
lives in an auto crash which occurred on Friday along Makurdi-Gboko highway in
Benue State.
Witnesses said that
the accident happened at 2pm following a head-on collision of a passenger bus
and a RAV 4 Jeep at Tior-Tyu village on Gboko road.
It was gathered that
two persons died in the RAV 4 Jeep while the driver of the vehicle and a little
boy at the front seat survived the fatal accident.
The other two deceased
victims were travelling in the passenger bus while remaining occupants were
said to have sustained varied degree of injury.
When contacted, the
State Commander of Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), David Mienyague, confirmed
the accident but added that he could not give details until his men who went on
rescue reports back to him.
