OLD BOYS ASSOCIATION, PTA, GIVE IGBOBI COLLEGE A FACELIFT



As part of efforts to improve academic performance and raise the standard of living of students, Igbobi College Old Boys Association and the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), have upgraded teaching and infrastructural facilities at the school.



President, Old Boys’ Association, Foluso Philips who described their contribution to the school this year as phenomenal, also announced that the association has commenced the renovation of the school dormitory and Chapel.

Speaking at a Holy Communion service held recently at the college chapel to mark the school’s 85th Founders’ Day, Philips also said plans are underway to upgrade the school’s science laboratories to the best standard.

Similarly, the PTA Chairman, Victor Olatunji Teriba, said the association has embarked on some projects to assist the teaching and learning of mathematics by students including a language class for the school.

He stated that the association is keen on creating a conducive atmosphere to assist the students improve on their performance. In his remarks, the Chaplain, Rev. C.S.M Ikpeama described the college as the pride of the nation, noting that its achievements in the last 85 years are commendable.

He said the school has been outstanding in many areas and has produced distinguished personalities who are contributing their own quota to the growth of the nation in various fields.

The Chaplain listed Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinabjo, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola and Chairman, federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Babatunde Fowler, as some of the school’s distinguished alumni members. 

He stated that these personalities have positively impacted on the nation’s economic and social wellbeing.
